STELAR Collaboration: STEM for English Learners
In October of last year the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine released English Learners in STEM Subjects: Transforming Classrooms, Schools, and Lives, a report funded through NSF and championed by the late program officer Julio López-Ferrao. The committee reached several conclusions and recommendations around the barriers to STEM instruction for English Learners (ELs), and the unique learning opportunities these experiences present.
Many ITEST projects work with ELs and have a lot to contribute to the conversation. Join STELAR and your ITEST colleagues to collaborate and plan ways for ITEST projects to share their strategies, lessons learned, and challenges with the field. A white paper?
