The National Science Foundation’s Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR) invites you to join us for a workshop series designed to provide insight on how to compete for funding in STEM education. The workshop will offer key insights into NSF and specifically EHR for faculty, researchers, and administrators.

Workshop participants will hear from and engage with NSF Program Officers, learn about EHR programs of interest, and gain insight on the merit review process.

The National Science Foundation published NSF 21-033, “Advancing Quantum Education and Workforce Development” in December 2020. This Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) encourages submission of proposals for projects that will motivate and prepare students for quantum industries of the future. The National Science Foundation (NSF) is interested in preparation of students for quantum information science and engineering (QISE) at all levels and in all settings, both formal and informal.

This workshop will introduce state, district, and school leaders to a new tool to assist in evaluating their professional learning initiatives. The workshop will present Evaluating Professional Learning: A Tool for Schools and Districts and provide suggestions for getting started. A practitioner from Connecticut will also share about lessons learned using the tool. Following the workshop, office hours will be available for participants who need additional support in getting started.

Increasingly, evaluators and principal investigators (PIs) are anchoring their work in equity-focused, culturally responsive, and social justice ideals. But we in the evaluation field have not yet established an empirical understanding of how evaluators and PIs define and measure diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). In this webinar, we will report an examination of how evaluators and PIs funded by NSF’s ATE program define and measure DEI within their projects.
