AI CIRCLS Community Partnership Discussion Series - Partnering with K-12 districts
DESCRIPTION
Description and topics:
The Center for Integrative Research in Computing and Learning Science is hosting an AI CIRCLS discussion series focused on building effective community/practitioner-research partnerships. The discussion series will contain opportunities to learn and act. The discussion will be approached through a specific lens of equity and social justice in establishing community partnerships, grounded in the RETTL context (with a particular focus on AI and education) where partnerships are likely to involve the use of emerging technologies that are unlikely to be fully realized.
Registration will be open to anybody who wants to participate. Sessions could stand alone for those who are only interested in specific topics or can be attended as a series.
We will host these speakers and cover the following topics:
- · K-12 Educators (2/18): partnership requirements with schools, creating mutually beneficial projects
- · Andres Henriquez (formerly NY Hall of Science) (tentatively 3/4 ): informal science learning center partnerships
- · Breanne Litts (USU) (3/18): partnering with tribal nations, modifying IRB processes, and continuing relationships
- · Additional speakers TBA
