STELAR Webinar: Theories of Career Development

DESCRIPTION

The world is changing rapidly and so too are the career opportunities available. How can we best support the career development of youth so that they can take full advantage of what the world has to offer?  What influences career direction?  What elements shaped our own career path?

This webinar will provide an overview of research on theories of career development, from the Trait-Factor theory that influenced more than a half century of public opinion on who should do what types of work, to developmental theories that speak to the influences of cumulative experience, and theories that consider the role of hope and the influences of culture and environment.  With a deeper understanding of research in the field, we can make better decisions about what information and experiences might be introduced into PreK–12 curriculum and out-of-school learning experiences to guide students onto paths leading to productive and rewarding careers.

Join us on Tuesday, December 10 at 2 pm ET for an interactive presentation by Joyce Malyn-Smith and STELAR team members!
