NSTA Call for Papers: The Science Teacher

DESCRIPTION

Editors of the National Science Teacher Association's high school journal, The Science Teacher  (TST), are seeking manuscripts that describe new and creative ideas for the secondary science classroom. Manuscripts should provide worthwhile ideas and practical help for teachers as they relate to the themes listed. Specific upcoming deadlines are below, view the call for papers on the NSTA website for more information and to view additional themes with ongong submission deadlines. 

Three-Dimensional Learning - SUBMISSION DEADLINE: July 1, 2016
Central to the vision of A Framework for K–12 Science Education and the Next Generation Science Standards is that students should actively engage in science and engineering practices and apply crosscutting concepts to understand disciplinary core ideas. Students make sense of phenomena or design solutions to problems through instruction that integrates these three dimensions. Have you found ways to introduce three-dimensional learning in your classroom? If so, please share them with The Science Teacher readers.

From Research to Practice: Bringing Research into the Classroom - SUBMISSION DEADLINE: July 15, 2016
This issue will focus on research-guided classroom practices. Have you found ways to integrate the latest cognitive or scientific research into your classes? Have you developed partnerships to implement research-based methods and activities? Do you use research-supported strategies for improving student learning? Please share your ideas with TST readers.

Literacy in Science - SUBMISSION DEADLINE: August 1, 2016

ave you found interesting ways to incorporate reading, writing, and language arts in your science teaching? Have you developed an activity to improve scientific literacy? Literacy skills are important for all learners, and this issue will focus on methods to foster these skills in science instruction.
