This project expands from a single site into a multi-university, multi-school teacher professional development and curriculum development initiative for geospatial integration into science, social studies, and STEM courses. Student outcomes addressed include spatial thinking and reasoning and STEM college and career interests.

The YouthAstroNet project is scaling up a program & online learning platform for youth ages 11-14 that features customized access to robotic telescopes, support for learner-driven engagement with scientific and computational analysis tools and practices, and interactions with digital STEM mentors.
This Synthesis project uses meta-analysis and qualitative synthesis to examine the effects of integrating innovative technologies into K-12 STEM education on students’ STEM career-related outcomes, and if and in what ways intervention characteristics and educational settings moderate these effects.
Project Overview: The TRAILS 2.0 SEI will expand, scale, and innovate a tested model of integrative STEM instruction and teacher professional development to enhance rural students’ STEM learning while generating interest in STEM careers. The ITEST / CCERS project, Phase II continues to focus with the aim of better understanding and promoting equitable practices that increase student motivation and preparation to pursue careers in the STEM fields by expanding and testing an innovative curriculum model that features locally relevant problem-based learning with students in underrepresented populations.
