24 middle school students and 11 teachers from across eastern Montana participated in the ITEST Paleo Exploration Project, which linked the group with scientists in the field (literally). Participants discovered that while digging for dinosaurs can be exciting, it's not as easy as the popular movie makes it seem, and sometimes a lot of patience is required to unearth even a single bone.

A West Virginia high-school student has discovered a new pulsar, using data from the giant Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope (GBT). The Global Challenge, a Vermont-based contest and ITEST project aimed at improving American high school students' math and science skills, brings together 58 teams of American students coupled with students from China, India, and Japan to tackle technological solutions to global warming during the school year.
