Overview

This course has been designed to be completed chronologically. However, the proposal writing process is very rarely that linear, and as you work your way through the course you may find that you want to jump to a different module, or go back to a previous module that now seems more relevant.

Objectives of this Module

In this module you will:

  • Learn about the STELAR Center, NSF, and ITEST
  • Review key background resources for NSF proposal writing
  • Learn about multiple ways of conceptualizing your idea
  • Get started on your own proposal development process

Module Format

This module has the following sections:

  • Overview provides module objectives
    • STELAR: The STEM Learning and Research Center
    • Introduction to NSF and its Programs
    • Introduction to the ITEST Program
    • Logistics of Proposal Development
    • Planning for Proposal Submission (Plan)
  • Proposal Steps will summarize the activities from the previous sections within the module. Each of these summaries is designed to help with writing your proposal.
  • Resources provides general and specific resources, quick links to useful sites, and exemplars of proposal material
